“Why Don't We Go to Guizhou to Support Education?”

每天早晨贵州省榕江县古州镇第四小学门口都会出现一个熟悉的身影他对着走进校园的学生们点头问好：“孩子们，早上好！”孩子们则大声回应：“老师早上好！”他叫申屠国良,是榕江县古州镇第四小学校长。

Every morning, a familiar figure appears at the gate of the fourth primary school in Guzhou Town, Rongjiang County, Guizhou Province, nodding to the students as they enter to the campus and saying :“Good morning, boys and girls”, and students responding loudly: “Good morning, teacher”. His name is Shentu Guoliang, the headmaster of the Fourth Primary School in Guzhou Town, Rongjiang County.

申屠国良与孩子们

2019年11月在浙江桐庐圆通小学干了20年校长的申屠国良来到榕江县仁里乡开展帮扶交流工作，走访村小的过程中大山里的教育资源短缺教育严重滞后等现状让他“瞠目结舌”。短短的交流很快结束，但“教育扶贫”的种子却悄悄在他心底萌芽。回到桐庐后申屠国良一有空就和妻子分享在榕江拍到的美景以及榕江的教育现状，经常感慨大山里的孩子求学多艰难。妻子明白了他的想法主动提出：“要不我们去贵州支教吧？你教数学，我教语文和英语。”得到妻子的支持申屠国良高兴得像个孩子。2020年8月杭州市桐庐县计划选派一批教师到贵州省榕江县进行“组团式”教育帮扶，申屠国良和妻子立马报了名。随后，夫妻俩和另外三名老师跨越千里来到了榕江县古州镇第四小学，申屠国良担任校长妻子汪辉主要教授英语。

Shentu Guoliang, a headmaster of the YuanTong Elementary School in Tonglu County Zhejiang Province for 20 years, came to Renli Town, Rongjiang County to carry out assistance and exchange work in November 2019. During his visit to the village, he was “stunned” by the shortage of educational resources and the serious lag of education in mountainous region. The short exchange ended quickly, while the seeds of “education poverty alleviation” sprouted in his heart. After he backed to Tonglu, he shared with his wife the beautiful pictures he had taken in Rongjiang and the current situation of Rongjiang's education whenever he was free. He often lamented how hard it was for children to study in mountainous region. His wife understood his idea and offered: “why don't we go to Guizhou to support education? You can teach maths and I can teach Chinese and English”. With the support of his wife, he was happy as a child. In August 2020, Tonglu County of Hangzhou plans to send a group of teachers to Rongjiang County of Guizhou Province for “group style” education assistance. Shentu Guoliang and his wife immediately signed up. Later, the couple and three other teachers traveled thousands of miles to the Fourth Primary School in Guzhou Town, Rongjiang County. ShenTu Guoliang was the headmaster, and his wife Wang Hui mainly taught English.

申屠国良、汪辉入选“中国好人榜”

“提高校园管理手段，培养打造一支带不走的教师队伍。”是申屠国良最初到榕江支教的目标。为此，他专门成立了“同融学社”，每周对新老师进行一次集中培训。通过新老结对、以老带新进行教学的研讨、交流、展示，通过各种形式帮助他们站稳讲台提高教学水平。

“Improve the means of campus management, cultivate and build a team of teachers who cannot be taken away.” It was Shentu Guoliang's original goal to teach in Rongjiang. To this end, he set up the “Tongrong society” to train new teachers once a week. By pairing the old with the new and the old with the new for seminars, exchanges and demonstrations of teaching, he helps them stand firm on the platform and improve their teaching level.
