王震爱才惜才
Wang Zhen’s Thirst for Talents
在老一辈革命家中，王震以爱才而闻名。他曾说：“没有知识分子的参加，革命的胜利是不可能的”，“尊重人才，没有人才可以有人才，人才少可以变多，否则，多就会变少，有等于没有。”
Among the older generation of revolutionaries, Wang Zhen is known for his thirst for talented people. He once said: “Without the participation of intellectuals, the victory of the revolution cannot be won”, “If we respect talented people, more and more intellectuals will join us. Their number will increase from zero to few, and then from few to more. Otherwise, their number will decrease, and eventually there will be none.”
出身于贫苦农民家庭的王震，幼年时只读过几年私塾和小学，但在他指挥的部队里，积极主张吸收知识分子入伍。
Born in a poor peasant family, Wang Zhen had only been in private school and elementary school for a few years when he was young. However, he actively advocated the recruitment of intellectuals into the army in the troops under his command.
1937年11月，时任三五九旅旅长的王震参加八路军会议，他说：“我想要一些人。”贺龙笑着说：“你胃口真不�。桓鋈寰怕媚敲炊嗳寺�，还嫌少?”王震笑着说：“我王震用兵也是多多益善嘛!我还要一些读书识字的知识分子，给部队教授文化知识。没有文化的军队，是愚昧的军队，打不败日本帝国主义。这不是我们常说的吗?”
In November 1937, Wang Zhen, then brigade commander of the 359th Brigade, attended the meeting of the Eighth Route Army. He said, “I want some people.” He Long smiled and said, “You have a wild ambition. You already have so many people in your brigade, and you still want more?” Wang Zhen smiled and said, “To me, more troops mean better army! I also want some intellectuals who can read and write to teach the soldiers. An uneducated army is an ignorant army and cannot defeat Japanese imperialism. Isn’t this what we often emphasize?”
于是，贺龙将从北平来根据地参加抗日的康世恩、郭小川、刘亚生、赵安博、王季青等一批青年学生和知识分子分给三五九旅。其中，北京大学毕业生刘亚生很受王震器重，被破格提拔为三五九旅政治部副主任。王震求才若渴，在三五九旅有一条不成文的规定：凡是初、高中毕业生入伍，在连队锻炼一段即委以恰当的职务。
Hence He Long assigned a group of young students and intellectuals who came to the base from Beiping to participate in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression, including Kang Shien, Guo Xiaochuan, Liu Yasheng, Zhao Anbo, Wang Jiqing and so on. Among them, Liu Yasheng, a graduate of Peking University, who was highly regarded by Wang Zhen, was promoted by breaking conventions to deputy director of the Political Department of the 359th Brigade. As Wang Zhen is thirsty for talented people, there is an unwritten rule in the 359th Brigade: All junior and senior high school graduates enlisted in the army will be appointed to appropriate positions after being tempered in the army for a period of time.
解放战争时期，王震率军每解放一座城市，就亲自去动员知识青年参加部队。《王震传》的编者说：“王震像磁铁一样，在自己周围吸引了一批有真才实学的知识分子。
During the War of Liberation, Wang Zhen would mobilize young intellectuals to join the army in person every time when he led the army and liberated a city,. The editor of Wang Zhen’s Biography said: “Wang Zhen is like a magnet, and is capable of attracting a group of talented intellectuals around him.”
